ICE WOLF
There is a man his hair is black like that of a dark wolf. His eyes are blue like the daytime sky, and upon is neck he wears a choker that belonged to his lover that he placed upon his neck the day his lover died. Everyday he distances himself from his people and he becomes a loner but no one understands why. One night he closes his eyes and he drifts off into a deep sleep and he hears his lover call to him in the howl of a wolf. In the dream he sees himself running on the soft wet grass and he smells the life around him. He continues to run and he tries to catch up with the pack off wolves, he calls out to them but they do not hear him. He finally reaches the top of the most beautiful places he has ever seen. It is a large white mountain covered with a heavenly night of darkness. He brings back his head and howls a cry of pain at the Winter Moon above him. His coat shows signs of weariness and it is ragged but it still shines with life. He sees his people staring and laughing at him but with a blink of an eye they become a pack of wolves at the bottom of the mountain and they turn and walk away from him. He becomes delirious and cries while he is in state of this powerful vision. He begins to tell the Chief of the man he loved which had passed away. The vision continues and he feels a tear of ice fall upon his face and he sees himself as a dark lonely wolf encased in ice. His body trembles with the feel of ice encased around his skin and he wakes from his vision and the Chief looks into his eyes and tells him he must go seek the truth of the vision that came to him. He goes to seek his vision and he walks until he sees the green grass he knows he has smelled and walked upon before. He looks above and sees the white mountain he envisioned before, he climbs it until he finally reaches the top and he looks down below and cries out to his lover. Suddenly, he sees a presence before him. It is an animal, a wolf, the wolf speaks to him and then he realizes it is his lover. He takes the choker from his neck and places it upon his lovers neck and he gazes into his eyes. His people watch from down below and he hears no laughter. They call out to him in chants of his people. They say to him you will always will be one off us. So, with those words his spirit is released and he no longer has to hide and he joins his lover once more in the Winter Moon high up in the sky.
